We have seen a steady rise in oil prices in recent months and the price of oil is currently almost 50% higher than it was back in the summer last yer so it comes as little surprise that airlines are starting to look at increasing their charges and fuel surcharges to help pay the higher cost of running their aircraft.
It is likely this will be an increasing trend as with world demand for oil growing and supplies are beginning to become more expensive and difficult to find and extract. It could be we have seen the golden age of air travel and that it will become much more expensive in the future and less available to those of us who do not have deep pockets.
